Music Project between Canada and Cuba
I received an invitation from the General Consul from Cuba to Canada and Mr. Keith Ellis, Emeritus Proffesor of the University of Toronto. to direct the music project between Canada and Cuba. As the first activity, he told me to arrange and prepare for music auditions by the students from the Royal Conservatory of Music and several universities in Toronto.
After extensive auditions we found two students, one guitar player from the Royal Conservatory of Music and the other, a percussionist from York University. They were selected to travel to Cuba with a scholarship in the Instituto Cuba-Puerto Rico de Musica which works together with the Insitito Superior de Musica in Havana, Cuba.
This is the first group of students who starts this new project which comprised of students from over 26 countries. In this case, these are the first Canadian students who have already started their studies in Havana.
